Kia has announced that pre-orders for the all-new generation Seltos SUV will commence in China on August 13. This launch event is set to take place this summer, with the vehicle expected to be a notable addition to the brand's offerings in the Chinese automotive market.

Visually, the new Seltos has undergone significant design modifications, drawing inspiration from Kia's electric vehicle design ethos, particularly the EV5. It features vertical split headlights integrated into a wider grille. The exterior boasts sharper lines, flush door handles, and pronounced wheel arches. A connecting taillight across the rear and an extended spoiler complete the updated aesthetic.

The vehicle measures 4430 mm in length, 1830 mm in width, and 1600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2690 mm. The larger body offers increased cabin and cargo space, with the trunk volume expanded to 536 liters. Inside, the cabin is dominated by two 12.3-inch screens and a separate climate control panel. Features include OTA updates, an AI assistant, and optional panoramic sunroofs and premium audio systems.

Powertrain options for the new Seltos include a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 147 horsepower and a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine available in 178 hp or 190 hp variants depending on the market. Transmission choices include manual, 7-speed dual-clutch, and 8-speed automatic options. All-wheel drive and multi-terrain driving modes (snow, mud, sand) will also be available.

Kia is also focusing on improving driving dynamics and safety. The new Seltos is built on an upgraded K3 platform, enhancing body rigidity and ride balance. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), along with improved sound insulation and chassis tuning, aim to elevate the overall NVH performance and driving refinement.
