King Felipe VI Presents Enrique V. Iglesias Award to Dionisio Gutiérrez

King Felipe VI of Spain bestowed the 2025 Enrique V. Iglesias Award upon Dionisio Gutiérrez, president of the Guatemalan think tank Fundación Libertad y Desarrollo, on Wednesday, November 4. The ceremony was held at the Palacete de los Duques de Pastrana in Madrid, coinciding with the Ibero-American Summit.

The award is named after Enrique V. Iglesias, the first Ibero-American secretary general and honorary president of the Council for Ibero-American Business (CEAPI). It recognizes individuals for their efforts in promoting democratic institutions, economic development, and the rule of law across the region. Gutiérrez, known for his work in civil leadership and media, currently heads the organization dedicated to these policy objectives.

The event also featured the attendance of the 2026 award recipient, Andrés Esteves, and leadership from CEAPI. In his acceptance remarks, Gutiérrez advocated for a collective commitment from intellectuals and business leaders to foster long-term stability and progress within Ibero-America.
