Japanese game developer Square Enix has permanently lowered prices for titles in its Kingdom Hearts series on the Steam digital distribution platform. The price adjustments went into effect on October 10.
Several key entries in the series have seen significant price changes. For instance, the "KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX" collection is now priced at 198 yuan in China, down from 298 yuan. Similarly, "KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" and "KINGDOM HEARTS III + RE Mind (DLC)" have been reduced to 198 yuan each, a decrease from their previous 348 yuan price point.
Other titles affected include "KINGDOM HEARTS Melody of Memory," which now costs 198 yuan, down from 249 yuan. Additionally, the "KINGDOM HEARTS All-in-One Package," a bundle containing multiple games from the series, is now available for 368 yuan, substantially reduced from its original 720 yuan price.
The Kingdom Hearts series is recognized for its distinctive crossover of Final Fantasy characters and Disney worlds. The permanent price reductions on Steam may serve to broaden the accessibility of the long-running franchise to a new or returning player base.
