Kitzbühel Golf Tournament Gala Raises Funds for Charity
The Austrian Alpine Open golf tournament in Kitzbühel kicked off its week with a gala event combining sport, celebrity, and charitable giving. Funds were raised to support individuals with disabilities and those facing hardship.

Kitzbühel, Austria – The Austrian Alpine Open golf tournament commenced its week with a gala evening at the VIP Club – Home of Alpine Golf on the Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith Golf Course. The event brought together international guests, celebrated the sport, and highlighted a significant focus on charitable giving. In cooperation with the Franz Beckenbauer Foundation, organizers emphasized social responsibility by supporting individuals with disabilities and those who have fallen into hardship.
The gala attracted approximately 400 guests, including professional golfers, sports personalities, cultural figures, and international visitors. The evening's featured guest was Austrian golf professional Sepp Straka, who spoke alongside fellow golfers, such as defending champion Nicolai von Dellingshausen, actors Hans Sigl and Mark Keller, and comedian Matze Knop, about the event's unique atmosphere and the importance of hosting a DP World Tour event in Kitzbühel.
The event served as the official opening for the international tournament, with a strong emphasis on social responsibility. Through the partnership with the Franz Beckenbauer Foundation, the Austrian Alpine Open 2026 sent a clear message of solidarity and support. Proceeds from the gala evening will benefit individuals with disabilities and those facing adversity. Board members of the Foundation, Heidrun Beckenbauer and Joel Beckenbauer, were present, underscoring the commitment to using sport as a means to support society.
