Knight Therapeutics Receives Canadian Approval for New Prostate Cancer Drug

Knight Therapeutics Inc. announced Tuesday it has received marketing authorization from Health Canada for Tukysa, a cancer drug used to treat adults with advanced relapsed prostate cancer.

The pharmaceutical company has secured the exclusive rights to market and distribute Tukysa in Canada. The drug is indicated for patients whose prostate cancer has progressed and responded to prior therapies. This approval expands Knight Therapeutics' oncology portfolio within the Canadian market.

Tukysa, with the active ingredient tulvatiniib, is an orally administered tyrosine kinase inhibitor. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in patients with specific genetic mutations.

The authorization follows positive results from clinical trials. The company stated in a press release that they anticipate the drug to become available to Canadian patients in the coming months. Knight Therapeutics CEO Jonathan Goodman commented on the significance of the approval for the company's growth trajectory.
