Knight Therapeutics Takes Over Commercial Operations for AKYNZEO® in Canada
Montreal-based Knight Therapeutics has assumed full commercial responsibility for the drug AKYNZEO® in Canada and is relaunching it. The medication is used to prevent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.

Knight Therapeutics Inc., Montreal, Canada – December 1, 2022 – Knight Therapeutics announced today that it has assumed full commercial activities and is relaunching oral AKYNZEO® (netupitant/palonosetron capsules) in Canada.
The assumption of commercial operations follows an exclusive license, distribution, and supply agreement entered into by Knight and Helsinn Healthcare SA in May 2022. The agreement covers oral and IV AKYNZEO® as well as oral and IV ALOXI® in Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
AKYNZEO® is approved in Canada for the prevention of acute and delayed nausea and vomiting associated with highly emetogenic cancer chemotherapy, and for the prevention of acute nausea and vomiting associated with moderately emetogenic cancer therapy not controlled by a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist alone in adults.
Knight states that AKYNZEO® offers a once-per-cycle, fixed-dose combination therapy that is a leading and guideline-recommended prophylactic treatment for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. The company estimated that sales of AKYNZEO® in Canada and Brazil were approximately $7 million in 2021.
