Kolmogorov Law Survey: Half of U.S. Workers Aware of Personal Liability for Incorrect AI Answers
A national survey by Kolmogorov Law found that half of U.S. workers recognize they could be personally liable for incorrect AI-generated answers. However, two-thirds do not always verify the AI's output.
Half of U.S. workers believe they would be personally liable for incorrect answers generated by artificial intelligence (AI), according to a new national survey. The study, which surveyed 500 employed AI users, highlights potential risks in workplaces utilizing AI tools.
The Kolmogorov Law survey revealed that 42 percent of employees have knowingly accepted an AI-generated answer they suspected was inaccurate. Furthermore, 30 percent reported already encountering workplace problems due to erroneous AI information.
The findings also indicate that only 22 percent of workers operate under written rules that require them to verify AI output. This suggests a gap in established protocols for managing and validating information provided by AI systems.
These results underscore the need for companies to implement clearer guidelines and training programs for responsible AI use. The aim is to mitigate risks associated with misinformation and potential consequences for both individuals and organizations.
