Konami intends to release a new Silent Hill game every year, producer Motoi Okamoto revealed in an interview with GamesRadar at Gamescom in Cologne. The company seeks to find new ways to express the series while maintaining its core characteristics and avoiding stagnation.

Okamoto stated that focusing solely on the series' traditional American settings could eventually lead to player fatigue and limit storytelling potential. He also confirmed that multiple unannounced Silent Hill projects are in development.

"There are still many projects in development, and many of them are unannounced. We can't reveal details, but we are actively exploring and developing many projects," Okamoto said. He assured players that more Silent Hill experiences and diverse game types are planned for the future.

These statements align with Konami President Hideki Hayakawa's previous remarks about revitalizing the company's flagship IPs, including Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and Castlevania. Hayakawa's use of the term "relaunch" appears to signify the introduction of new titles rather than solely remakes of older games.

The Silent Hill series has seen renewed momentum with upcoming titles like Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill f, and the September release of Silent Hill: Townfall. Silent Hill f, in particular, deviates from the series' typical setting by taking place in 1960s Japan, fitting Konami's goal of exploring new creative directions for the franchise.
