Konecranes Employees Pack Over 100,000 Meals for Ohio Food Banks

Konecranes Region Americas employees participated in a teambuilding event in Columbus, Ohio, packing over 102,000 meals for local food banks in March 2018. The event, called Feed the Funnel, was organized in partnership with The Pack Shack to combat food insecurity in the area.

The global crane manufacturer Konecranes, which builds industrial lifting equipment in Springfield, Ohio, organized a charitable activity alongside its regional sales meeting. The initiative aimed to provide employees with an opportunity to contribute to the community while fostering teamwork.

Jennifer Dine, Konecranes' vice president of human resources for the Americas region, highlighted Feed the Funnel as an ideal way to integrate community involvement with team building. More than 400 employees from various global locations worked together to assemble nutritious meals destined for local food banks.

Ohio faces significant food insecurity, with millions lacking consistent access to food. The employees' efforts resulted in over 102,000 meals packed within an hour, offering support to those in need and demonstrating the company's commitment to local welfare.
