Konecranes Launches New X-Series Industrial Crane
Konecranes has unveiled its new flagship industrial crane, the X-series, succeeding the popular CXT model. The crane features a compact design, enhanced efficiency, and industry-first wireless upgrade capabilities.
Konecranes Oyj has announced the launch of its new flagship industrial crane, the Konecranes X-series, which is set to succeed the well-established CXT model. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024, initially targeting markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The new X-series crane incorporates a redesigned, compact structure and utilizes safe, reliable technology. A key innovation is its wireless upgrade capability, allowing the crane to adapt to evolving customer needs over time. This feature also presents Konecranes with opportunities for new business models.
According to Jussi Luokomaa, Product Manager, Konecranes, the new model builds upon the success of the CXT crane, which has seen over 100,000 units sold globally since its introduction in 2000. The company anticipates strong demand for the X-series across various industrial sectors, including general manufacturing.
The X-series also emphasizes sustainability through its Design for Environment (DfE) approach, aiming to reduce environmental impact. It features upgraded components, such as a more efficient motor and synthetic rope, contributing to improved energy efficiency. The crane's connectivity, including TRUCONNECT remote monitoring, will enable future remote upgrades for smart features like sway control and snag prevention.
