Konecranes to Exhibit Coordinated Container Handling Equipment at Transport Logistic

Konecranes, a manufacturer of lifting equipment, will participate in the transport logistic 2019 trade fair in Munich from June 4-7. The company will present its extensive portfolio of heavy-duty lift trucks and port mobile harbor cranes on a joint stand for the first time.

At stand 220 in Hall B4, Konecranes will demonstrate how its reach stackers and port mobile harbor cranes work in tandem to enhance the efficiency and productivity of Combined Cargo Terminals (CCT) in Moerdijk, the Netherlands. Experts from Konecranes' truck and crane divisions will illustrate to trade fair attendees how these combined assets can optimize operations at combined cargo terminals.

"Container handling at freight terminals must be fast and efficient," said Hans-Jürgen Haupt, General Manager at Konecranes Lifttrucks Deutschland. "Specifically, transfers between ships and the subsequent distribution within the terminal need to be perfectly synchronized. That is why Konecranes reach stackers and Gottwald port mobile harbor cranes collaborate at CCT in Moerdijk, improving the productivity of the entire terminal process."

The company's port mobile harbor cranes load and unload containers of various sizes from vessels at the quay area of the combined cargo terminals, proving ideal for the U-shaped terminal layout. Konecranes states that the equipment's mobility across the terminal enhances overall facility productivity. These cranes have a maximum lifting capacity of 100 tons and a reach of up to 51 meters.
