Kongsberg Satellite Services partners with Morehead State University for lunar network expansion
Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) and Morehead State University have signed a partnership to bolster lunar communications and deep space connectivity.

Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) has entered into a formal partnership with Morehead State University to expand its lunar ground station infrastructure. The collaboration is designed to integrate the university’s existing technical facilities into the KSAT Lunar Network to support growing demand for space-to-ground communications.
As lunar exploration missions increase, the reliability of communication links between the lunar surface, orbit, and Earth has become a critical operational requirement. The agreement allows KSAT to leverage Morehead State's specialized infrastructure, effectively increasing the geographic and technical reach of its deep space services.
This move strengthens the commercial viability of KSAT’s lunar offerings amidst a crowded market of space communication providers. The partnership is positioned to assist both government and private entities in managing data flow for lunar operations as global space exploration activity continues to accelerate.
