Koopers Whiskey Launches Special Bourbon for Father's Day

Ledbetter, Texas – Koopers Whiskey has introduced a new limited-edition bourbon, Father's Office Cigar Blend Straight Bourbon Whiskey, timed for release ahead of Father's Day. The distillery announced the product on June 2, 2026, with sales commencing on June 13, 2026. This special release combines traditional bourbon production with distinctive finishing touches using Brazilian Amburana and Japanese Mizunara oak.

The bourbon was distilled in Indiana and aged for eight years, including six years in the Texas climate, in new, charred American white oak barrels. Following this, the whiskey underwent a finishing process involving Brazilian Amburana oak staves for seven weeks and Japanese Mizunara oak staves for twelve weeks. The Amburana oak imparts notes of cinnamon, baking spice, and dessert-like sweetness, while the Mizunara oak contributes delicate spice, sandalwood, and exotic oak characteristics.

Koopers Whiskey is recognized for its experimental approach to aging and finishing techniques. "Father's Office, like a cigar, is made for sharing," stated Troy Kooper, Master Blender at Koopers Whiskey. "It's about slowing down, spending meaningful time with someone who matters to you, and appreciating the evolving layers of flavor through deep conversation. Amburana and Mizunara gave us tools to add spice, warmth, and complexity without overpowering the bourbon itself." The spirit is bottled at a robust 114 proof (57% ABV).

The Father's Office Cigar Blend Bourbon, produced as a limited release from just two barrels, yields a total of 378 bottles. Pre-sales began on June 2 through the company's online store, with in-person sales starting at the Koopers Whiskey tasting room in Ledbetter, Texas, on June 13. The distillery anticipates the limited production will sell out quickly.
