Supply chain solutions provider Körber showcased its global strategy and product portfolio at the Elevate EMEA event. The company is focusing on digitalization, robotics, and cloud technology to enhance supply chain efficiency and resilience.
Hamburg, Germany – Körber, a global supplier of supply chain solutions, presented its global strategy and technology portfolio at its first European user conference, Elevate EMEA. The event, held from September 21-23, 2021, focused on how companies can transform current supply chain challenges into a strategic advantage.
Körber offers a comprehensive suite of solutions including software, robotics, voice-directed systems, and vision and mobility technologies, all supported by a cloud-based platform. The company aims to support the world's most complex supply chains, helping clients meet increasing consumer demand and navigate industry complexities.
Chad Collins, CEO of Software for Körber's Supply Chain business area, noted that nearly half of global supply chain experts faced increasing complexity between 2019 and 2020, yet only one in ten could effectively manage these challenges. Beyond the pandemic, rising consumer expectations for speed, price, and selection, coupled with sustainability demands and new digital technologies, are compelling companies to redefine their supply chains.
Körber's strategy prioritizes three key areas to drive supply chain digitalization: cloud technology, seamless integration of humans, automation, and robotics, and simulation and artificial intelligence (AI). The goal is to achieve high efficiency in intelligent supply chains with improved predictability and outcomes. Specific initiatives include the transition to cloud-based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), the upcoming launch of a Unified Control System (UCS) for autonomous mobile robots (AMR) in 2022, and enhancements to the CLASS tool for warehouse planning and simulation. These innovations are built upon the Körber One cloud-based technology platform, which forms the backbone of Körber's supply chain advancements.
