Krafton to Invest $250 Million in Indian AI and Deeptech Startups
South Korean gaming company Krafton plans to invest an additional $250 million in Indian startups focused on artificial intelligence and deeptech over the next three to four years.

South Korean gaming giant Krafton has announced plans to invest an additional $250 million (approximately ₹3,300 crore) in Indian startups over the next three to four years, expanding its commitment to the country.
The new capital will broaden Krafton's investment focus beyond gaming to emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and deeptech. This brings Krafton's total planned investment in India to $500 million, adding to the $250 million already deployed.
The announcement coincided with a meeting between Krafton Chairman Byung Gyu Chang and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. During the meeting, Chang reportedly reaffirmed Krafton's dedication to India's rapidly growing gaming, technology, and digital entertainment ecosystem.
Krafton has been investing in India since March 2021. Its existing portfolio includes stakes in esports startup NODWIN, streaming platform Loco, and publishing platform Pratilipi. The company also acquired a controlling 75% stake in game studio Nautilus Mobile.
Krafton is diversifying its investment strategy in India, following challenges in the real-money gaming sector. The company appears to view deeptech and AI as the next significant growth areas, with Indian AI startups having raised $676 million in the first half of 2026. India's AI economy is projected to reach $126 billion by 2030.
