Kraken Robotics Acquires U.S. Firm 3D at Depth for $17 Million

Kraken Robotics Inc. has announced plans to acquire 3D at Depth, Inc., a U.S.-based subsea technology and services company, for approximately $17 million. The transaction, expected to close around April 1, 2025, will see Kraken indirectly acquire 100% of 3D at Depth's shares. This acquisition is poised to significantly bolster Kraken's footprint in the United States market.

3D at Depth brings 15 years of experience in high-resolution underwater LiDAR imaging and measurements, serving key sectors including offshore oil and gas, defense, and marine science. The company reported unaudited 2024 revenues of $14 million and has demonstrated a 20% compound annual growth rate over the last three years. "This acquisition is a significant step in our growth strategy," stated a Kraken spokesperson. "3D at Depth's expertise and strong customer relationships are highly complementary to our existing business."

The integration of 3D at Depth is expected to yield substantial synergies, including cost savings in supply chain, facilities, and operational efficiencies. Kraken anticipates that the combined entity will be better positioned to accelerate technology development and deployment. The acquired company's operational presence includes facilities in Colorado and Texas, with additional offices in the UK.

Kraken Robotics views this move as a strategic enhancement to its service offerings and a platform for further expansion into emerging markets such as offshore wind and subsea mining. The acquisition underscores Kraken's commitment to strengthening its global position in the subsea technology sector.
