Kraken Robotics Receives Go-3D Technology Award

Kraken Robotik GmbH, a subsidiary of Kraken Robotics Inc., has received the Go-3D prize for its underwater SeaVision™ imaging system.

The award, presented by the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research and BITKOM, the German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media, recognizes outstanding technical achievement in 3D visualization. SeaVision™ utilizes a high-resolution camera and laser to reconstruct objects on the seabed, enabling detailed 3D modeling.

"We are very honored to accept this award," said Jakob Schwender, Managing Director of Kraken Robotik GmbH. "Modern technologies for the acquisition, processing, and visualization of 3D data have become increasingly important for industrial projects, particularly within the demanding maritime industry."

The system is capable of performing a variety of underwater inspection tasks, including generating geo-referenced 'as-built' models of subsea structures, surveying infrastructure, and detecting defects. Kraken Robotics, which has since undergone a name change to Kraken Robotics Inc., aims to integrate these capabilities with autonomous underwater vehicles for enhanced inspection efficiency and accuracy.
