Kraken Robotics Secures $35 Million in New Orders
Kraken Robotics has announced securing $35 million in new product orders from customers in maritime defense, offshore energy, and ocean science sectors. This brings the company's year-to-date order announcements to $327 million combined.
TORONTO – Kraken Robotics Inc. announced on July 20, 2026, that it has secured $35 million in new product orders. The orders come from customers in the maritime defense, offshore energy, and ocean science industries and span various Kraken and Covelya technologies, including navigation and positioning systems, multi-aperture sonar, and Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS).
The company reported that combined product orders for Kraken and its subsidiary Covelya have reached $327 million year-to-date in 2026. These orders highlight demand for the combined entity's product portfolio across defense and offshore energy sectors.
Company CEO Greg Reid stated that Kraken's product portfolio is integral to a wide range of platforms used in both defense and commercial applications, predicting it will represent over 75% of consolidated revenue in 2026. The products are utilized on crewed platforms like ships and submarines, as well as uncrewed systems such as autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), uncrewed surface vessels (USVs), and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
Key growth areas include the Sentinel Intruder Detection Sonar (IDS) for port and harbor security, which has seen increased demand from the Middle East and Europe. The KATFISH remotely operated towed vehicle (ROTV) is experiencing expanded interest for mine countermeasures and infrastructure monitoring across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific region. Demand for Kraken's SeaPower subsea batteries has also grown, with new defense customers added across multiple continents.
Kraken's technologies, including SAS and multi-aperture sonar, are being integrated into AUVs for defense customers globally. The SPRINT-Nav navigation and positioning system is also contributing to increased content per vehicle for defense AUV customers, while expanding Kraken's reach into USV and crewed vessel markets. The company noted that its products are integrated or being integrated into over 30 AUV platforms worldwide.
