Kraken Robotics to Supply Minehunting Systems to Polish Navy
Kraken Robotics has signed a contract with the Polish Navy to supply KATFISH™ towed Synthetic Aperture Sonar and related systems for KORMORAN II mine countermeasures vessels.

Kraken Robotics Inc., a Canadian marine technology company, will supply minehunting systems to the Polish Navy. The contract, signed on September 1, 2020, with Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A., will equip the new KORMORAN II class of mine countermeasures vessels (MCMVs).
The delivery from Kraken includes its KATFISH™ towed Synthetic Aperture Sonar, Tentacle® Winch, and Autonomous Launch and Recovery System (ALARS). This equipment will be integrated into the new KORMORAN II MCMVs being built by Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. in Gdansk, Poland. The shipyard is constructing a series of three such vessels for the Polish Navy.
A representative from the Polish Navy stated that the KATFISH™ system met all requirements during extensive sea trials, highlighting its capabilities for improving efficiency in countering naval mine threats in challenging shallow and very shallow water environments.
Kraken Robotics views this contract as significant and potentially enabling for future sales within NATO nations, should the Polish Navy successfully export its KORMORAN II MCMVs. The company has not disclosed specific financial details due to confidentiality clauses.
