Kraken Sonar Inc. has officially changed its corporate name to Kraken Robotics Inc., reflecting a broader commitment to the Unmanned Maritime Systems industry. The name change is effective September 22, 2017.
ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND – Kraken Sonar Inc. announced its corporate name change to Kraken Robotics Inc., effective Friday, September 22, 2017. The company's stock symbols on the TSX-V and OTCQB remain unchanged.
The company's Canadian operating subsidiary, Kraken Sonar Systems Inc. (KSSI), has also been renamed Kraken Robotic Systems Inc. (KRSI). This rebranding signifies Kraken's evolution from a sensor manufacturer to a provider of complete robotic systems, software, and services within the global Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMS) market.
Kraken President and CEO Karl Kenny stated that the new name reflects the company's broader commitment and expertise in shaping the future of UMS. He anticipates that the UMS market will transition from research and development to significant procurement opportunities for Kraken.
