Kroger Health launches support program for GLP-1 medications
Kroger Health has launched its GLP-1 Complete Support program to provide patients with guidance for weight management alongside GLP-1 medications. The program focuses on nutrition, lifestyle, and medication adherence.

CINCINNATI, OH – Kroger Health announced on July 24, 2026, the introduction of its GLP-1 Complete Support program, aimed at helping patients maximize the benefits of GLP-1 medications for weight management. The program offers personalized support from registered dietitians, pharmacists, and care teams.
The initiative emphasizes that successful weight management with GLP-1 medication requires more than just a prescription. "Patients need more than a prescription; they need ongoing support," stated Colleen Lindholz, president of Kroger Health. The program seeks to assist patients in navigating affordability, making informed nutritional choices, and developing lifestyle habits that contribute to lasting results.
Kroger Health's approach outlines five key strategies: prioritizing protein in meals, ensuring nutrient density with every bite, maintaining adequate hydration, planning food purchases in advance, and building a personal support system. These recommendations are designed to guide patients toward healthier decisions with the aid of various services.
The program also incorporates the use of the OptUP® nutrition rating system to simplify grocery choices and clarify cost-saving options such as the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program. Additionally, patients can access clinical services through The Little Clinic.
"GLP-1 medications can be powerful tools, but long-term success depends on the everyday choices patients make around food, hydration, and lifestyle," said Laura Brown, MS, RDN, LDN, director of nutrition for Kroger Health. Kroger Health provides this comprehensive support to help patients manage their weight confidently and achieve their health objectives.
