KRWQ on September 23, 2026, outlined its long-term vision for establishing compliant and transparent infrastructure for the Korean won (KRW) in global digital asset and foreign exchange markets. The company believes that blockchain-based financial infrastructure can complement South Korea's efforts to internationalize the won and increase its usage outside the country, by making KRW more accessible to global institutions and investors.

KRWQ has been listed by EDX Markets, a Citadel-backed exchange, as the first non-USD stablecoin with both perpetual and spot listings. The exchange also lists a perpetual futures contract for the stablecoin on EDXM International.

The company's immediate focus is on the offshore Korean won market, particularly the non-deliverable forward (NDF) market. This market is used by international institutions to trade and hedge KRW exposure. A significant portion of global KRW trading currently takes place outside Korea, in financial centers such as London, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

KRWQ aims to bring these markets onto the blockchain, enabling 24/7 access to KRW-denominated liquidity and creating new infrastructure for foreign exchange trading, hedging, settlement, and eventually tokenized Korean assets. The company is also exploring the acquisition and tokenization of Korean Treasury Bonds (KTB) and other high-quality Korean assets for its reserve framework.

The company emphasizes its commitment to operating in good faith and developing its infrastructure in accordance with evolving Korean and international regulatory standards. KRWQ's strategy currently focuses on offshore and global markets, not on Korean retail customers. It intends to evaluate its participation as Korea establishes a formal regulatory framework for won-denominated stablecoins. The goal is not to move the Korean won out of the Korean financial system, but to expand its role within the global financial system.
