KT and Rohde & Schwarz showcase AI-enhanced radio transmission performance
KT and Rohde & Schwarz demonstrated AI-enhanced radio transmission at MWC Barcelona 2026, showing increased downlink throughput and improved video streaming.

Munich – KT and Rohde & Schwarz have jointly showcased performance enhancements in AI-assisted radio transmission. A collaborative 6G AI proof-of-concept demonstration, utilizing Rohde & Schwarz's CMX500 tester, revealed significant gains in downlink throughput compared to conventional technologies.
The demonstration at MWC Barcelona 2026 illustrated how AI improves the user experience for video streaming applications. The collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies enabled the optimization of Channel State Information (CSI) feedback through AI/machine learning, marking a step towards 5G-Advanced and future 6G networks.
In the setup, an AI-enabled prototype device from Qualcomm Technologies connected to the Rohde & Schwarz CMX500, configured as an AI-enabled base station emulator. This configuration resulted in an approximate 50% increase in downlink throughput compared to traditional methods.
A key achievement was the validation of interoperability between AI models from different vendors, a critical step towards 6G standardization and a more open network ecosystem. The precision and controlled testing environment of the Rohde & Schwarz CMX500 tester proved essential for accurately assessing the performance of these advanced AI-based algorithms under realistic radio conditions.
