KT&G Commences Full Operations at New Indonesia Plant

KT&G has initiated full-scale production at its new plant in Indonesia, marking the completion of its global production system. Indonesia will now serve as KT&G's largest overseas production base, with an annual cigarette production capacity projected to reach up to 35 billion sticks.

The commencement of operations at the plant represents the final stage of the company's KRW 2.4 trillion (approximately USD 1.8 billion) overseas capital expenditure program. This investment aims to bolster KT&G's presence in the Asia-Pacific market and support its global expansion strategy.

This Indonesian facility is the fifth overseas production site for KT&G, completing its network of global manufacturing capabilities. Specific details regarding the locations and capacities of the other four plants were not provided.

KT&G has previously stated its intention to pursue significant growth in international markets. The Indonesian plant is expected to play a crucial role in realizing this objective, addressing rising demand and enhancing supply chain efficiencies within the region.
