KT&G Reports Record Q3 Earnings and Announces KRW 5 Trillion Shareholder Return Policy
South Korean tobacco company KT&G reported record-high revenue and operating profit for the third quarter, while unveiling a multi-year strategy to return KRW 5 trillion to shareholders.

KT&G posted record results for the third quarter, driven by strong performance in its core cigarette division, which achieved an operating margin of 32.6%. The company's financial growth highlights its dominance in the domestic market despite broader industry shifts toward alternative tobacco products.
In conjunction with the earnings report, the company announced a capital allocation strategy aimed at boosting shareholder value through 2030. The plan includes a commitment of KRW 5 trillion for dividends and share repurchases. KT&G aims for an annual dividend of KRW 8,000 per share by 2026, targeting a dividend payout ratio of at least 75% by 2030.
This policy reflects a strategic shift toward capital efficiency, as the company seeks to manage investor expectations amid increased competition. The board of directors maintains that this allocation of surplus cash reserves will stabilize stock performance while balancing ongoing operational investments.
