Indian technology firm Kuku Technologies has turned profitable in fiscal year 2026, marking a significant shift from its prior loss-making period. The company, preparing for an Initial Public Offering (IPO), saw its revenue surge to ₹1,484.2 crore (approximately $178 million) in FY26, a sixfold increase from ₹241.6 crore in the previous fiscal year.
The profitability was achieved as Kuku Technologies' top line performance saw a substantial rise. The company, which operates the audio OTT platform Kuku FM and microdrama app Kuku TV, recorded a profit of ₹182.7 crore in FY26, compared to a net loss of ₹152.6 crore incurred in FY25. Subscriptions remained the dominant revenue stream, generating ₹1,475.4 crore, accounting for over 99% of operating revenue. Pay-per-piece content purchases contributed ₹6.9 crore, while advertising brought in ₹1.9 crore. India continued to be the primary market, contributing ₹1,463.6 crore of the operating revenue.
Kuku Technologies' total expenses increased 3.5 times in FY26 to ₹1,421.8 crore from ₹411 crore in FY25. Marketing and advertising expenses constituted a significant portion, at 77.7% of overall costs, amounting to ₹1,105.1 crore. This represents a nearly fourfold jump from the ₹284.8 crore spent on marketing in FY25.
