A recent "Spotlight Kuwait" report by Ipsos, a global market research firm, provides insights into the digital habits and technology adoption among consumers in Kuwait. The survey focused on social media preferences, digital content subscriptions, and the integration of technology into daily life.

Instagram emerged as the dominant social media platform, utilized by 78% of respondents. Messaging apps followed at 67%, tied with Facebook, while YouTube usage stood at 53%. Despite widespread usage, Facebook was the most preferred platform for 23% of users, slightly behind Instagram (28%) and ahead of YouTube (22%). Younger demographics, particularly the 18-24 age group, showed higher engagement with platforms like Instagram (86%) and TikTok (54%).

In terms of digital content consumption, 36% of Kuwaiti consumers reported paying for digital content in the past six months. The report categorizes users into 'Laggards' (33%), 'Main Followers' (50%), and 'Early Adopters' (17%). The 18-24 age group demonstrated the highest propensity for early adoption, with 27% identifying as early adopters, contrasting with the 45+ age group where 'Laggards' represented 45%.

The study also underscored the deep integration of technology into everyday activities. A significant 85% of respondents used VoIP apps, 82% ordered food through delivery apps, and 77% streamed videos online. Adoption of mobile banking (61%), digital wallets (55%), and ride-hailing services indicates a strong reliance on digital solutions for convenience and daily tasks.
