Kymeta Appoints New CEO and Board Chair, Completes Funding Round

Redmond, WA – Kymeta, a provider of flat panel satellite antennas, announced leadership changes aimed at driving innovation and growth. Effective April 1, 2024, Rick Bergman will become the company's President and CEO, succeeding Doug Hutcheson and Walter Berger, who are retiring.

Bergman joins Kymeta from AMD, where he served as Executive Vice President of Computing and Graphics. He previously led Synaptics during a period of significant growth. His appointment is expected to leverage his experience in driving technological adoption and market expansion.

Nicole Piasecki, who joined the Kymeta board in May 2022, has been appointed Chair of the Board, replacing Doug Hutcheson. Piasecki brings extensive experience from the aerospace and defense sectors and will support Bergman's strategic direction.

Doug Hutcheson and Walter Berger will retire on March 31, 2024, after five years with the company. During their tenure, they oversaw multiple product launches and contributed to the company's growth. They are committed to a smooth transition of responsibilities to Bergman.

The company also confirmed the recent completion of its Series D funding round. These funds will be allocated to scaling production of the recently announced Osprey™ u8 Hybrid-GEO-LEO antenna and supporting future product development.
