Kymeta Secures Satellite Connectivity for Defense and Maritime Operations
Kymeta has secured a contract to advance its Ku/Ka multi-band SATCOM technology for naval operations, and is integrating its solutions with autonomous maritime platforms.

Satellite technology provider Kymeta has solidified its role in providing robust connectivity for defense and maritime sectors through recent contract awards and strategic integrations.
The company has received a three-year development contract from the U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR) to advance its multiband Ku/Ka satellite communication technology. This agreement aims to enhance full-duplex capabilities, crucial for naval operations requiring resilient, multi-orbit communication links.
Expanding its reach in autonomous maritime systems, Kymeta's technology will be integrated into the Variant 7 uncrewed surface vessel (USV) operated by Red Cat's maritime division, Blue Ops. This partnership is set to ensure continuous and reliable connectivity for autonomous maritime operations, supporting tasks such as surveillance and logistics.
These developments highlight Kymeta's focus on delivering high-performance satellite communication solutions for environments where traditional networks are unavailable. The technology enables seamless communication for mobile and remote platforms.
The company's systems are also applied in critical areas like border security and emergency response, where dependable communication is essential.
