Redmond, Washington โ€“ December 14, 2023 โ€“ Kymeta, a provider of flat panel satellite antennas, and Eutelsat Group, a satellite communications company, announced today that Kymeta's Hawk u8 terminal is now approved for land mobility on the Eutelsat OneWeb LEO network. This makes it the first flat panel antenna to be approved for land mobility applications on the network.

The approval enables enhanced connectivity for users requiring reliable service while on the move. Kymeta's Hawk u8 LEO terminal, launched in March 2023, is designed for low power consumption and compact size, facilitating connections for moving vehicles as well as stationary use by leveraging Eutelsat OneWeb's enterprise-grade connectivity.

Kymeta stated this development represents a significant step for satellite communications in mobile environments, building on their experience since 2017. Walter Berger, President and Co-CEO of Kymeta, highlighted the partnership's importance, calling it a fulfillment of their joint commitment to enable global satellite communications for mobile users.

Massimiliano Ladovaz, Chief Operations Officer at Eutelsat Group, commented that Kymeta's terminals deliver high bandwidth and low power usage. Eutelsat OneWeb's LEO network will provide Kymeta customers access to high-speed, low-latency broadband, regardless of location.
