Kymeta's New Mobile Connectivity Solution is Commercially Available
Redmond, Washington – Kymeta has announced the commercial availability of its next-generation mobile solutions, the u8 antenna and Kymeta Connect service. The new products are intended for global defense, government, first responder, and commercial customers, offering combined satellite and cellular connectivity for broadband communications on the move.
According to Kymeta, the new solutions are designed specifically for mobility, focusing on improved performance, ease of use, and affordability. The company believes the new products will strengthen its position in both commercial and government markets.
Kymeta President and COO Walter Berger emphasized the importance of the solutions for government and military needs. "These men and women often go to the most remote or disaster-stricken areas, and they need reliable communications to save lives, keep property safe, and complete missions," Berger stated.
The company reports that the new u8 antenna offers significantly increased throughput and reduced total cost of ownership. The launch builds on a successful beta program that demonstrated speeds of over 45 Mbps in mobile land environments, even at large scan angles, with power consumption under 150W. The system has been successfully tested globally under various conditions.
