Laika Studios Releases Full Trailer for Animated Film "Wildwood"

Laika Studios has released the complete trailer for its new stop-motion animated fantasy film, "Wildwood." The trailer showcases the visual style of the movie, set to a cover of Avicii's song "Wake Me Up."

The film is an adaptation of the 2011 novel of the same name by Colin Meloy, the frontman of the band The Decemberists, and his wife, illustrator Carson Ellis. The story draws inspiration from the authors' experiences in Portland, Oregon's Forest Park, transforming it into a hidden magical realm.

"Wildwood" follows the story of 12-year-old Prue McKee, who enters a hidden forest dimension to rescue her baby brother after he is abducted by crows. There, she encounters a world populated by talking animals and hidden dangers, as well as other characters searching for their lost children.

The film is directed by Travis Knight, who previously directed Laika's "Kubo and the Two Strings" and "Bumblebee." The studio is known for its detailed stop-motion animation techniques.
