Lakefront Biotherapeutics Reports Half-Year 2026 Financials and Business Update

Mechelen, Belgium – Lakefront Biotherapeutics NV released its financial results for the first half of 2026 and a business update on August 10, 2026. The company finalized its acquisition of Ouro Medicines in June, in conjunction with Gilead Sciences, reinforcing its strategy to advance the gamgertamig drug candidate.

CEO Henry Gosebruch highlighted the significance of the collaboration post-Ouro Medicines acquisition. "We expect to accelerate and expand the already rapid development of our lead asset, gamgertamig," Gosebruch stated. The company plans to initiate new proof-of-concept studies for gamgertamig in multiple autoimmune disease indications in 2027. Gosebruch noted that ongoing clinical trials are progressing well and showing promising results.

According to CFO Aaron Cox, the company is maintaining its year-end 2026 cash and financial investments guidance of approximately €2 billion. This forecast includes a €50 million share repurchase program expected to conclude by year-end. Furthermore, the company projects having at least €1.6 billion in dry powder available to fund strategic transactions and other capital allocation priorities.

The company's name was officially changed to Lakefront Biotherapeutics on May 8, 2026, and its ticker symbol was updated to LKFT. In May, the company appointed Dr. Eric Hedrick as its new Chief Medical Officer. Additionally, a €50 million share repurchase program was initiated in June.

Gamgertamig has received both Fast Track and Orphan Drug designations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) and immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). The company anticipates gamgertamig will enter registrational studies in 2027. Lakefront Biotherapeutics is actively initiating further clinical studies across various autoimmune diseases.
