Lamborghini Revuelto SV Will Not Target Nürburgring Lap Record Soon
Lamborghini's new Revuelto SV supercar will not attempt an official lap time record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the near future, the company has confirmed. The limited-edition V12 hybrid was unveiled globally as a 1,963-unit run.

Lamborghini does not plan to challenge the Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record with its new Revuelto SV supercar in the immediate future. Company representatives stated the decision stems from a desire to provide customers with a repeatable performance benchmark.
The Revuelto SV, Lamborghini's latest V12 hybrid supercar, was globally unveiled as a limited edition of 1,963 units. Instead of testing at the Nürburgring, Lamborghini focused on achieving the fastest production car lap time at the Hockenheimring circuit in Germany.
Alessandro Farmeschi, Revuelto Product Line Director, explained that the Nürburgring's complex and variable conditions are more suited for engineering development rather than serving as a repeatable performance benchmark for customers. The Hockenheimring circuit, conversely, better approximates the real-world track day scenarios for typical owners, making the achieved lap time a more attainable reference.
Lamborghini announced that factory driver Marco Mapelli set a new production car record at Hockenheimring. This decision has sparked debate among enthusiasts, as the Nürburgring is widely regarded as the ultimate benchmark for performance vehicles. Some speculate that avoiding the Nürburgring might also be a strategic marketing consideration to sidestep direct comparisons with competitors.
