Lance Y. Gokongwei Joins PhilWeb Board of Directors
Business leader Lance Y. Gokongwei has joined the board of directors at PhilWeb Corporation. The appointment follows Gokongwei's significant investment in the company.
MANILA, PHILIPPINES – PhilWeb Corporation, a publicly listed company (PSE: WEB), announced that business leader Lance Y. Gokongwei has officially joined its Board of Directors. This move is expected to bolster the company's technology-driven growth strategy.
The appointment comes shortly after Gokongwei made a substantial strategic investment of ₱2.03 billion (approximately $34 million USD) in PhilWeb. As a new director, he is expected to provide strategic oversight and governance, particularly as the company expands its infrastructure, technology capabilities, and artificial intelligence (AI) roadmap.
PhilWeb provides digital infrastructure, operational systems, and platform solutions for licensed operators and regulated digital entertainment ecosystems in the Philippines. The company has been investing in AI-enabled operational systems, compliance and risk management infrastructure, and platform intelligence.
Edgar Brian K. Ng, PhilWeb's President, stated that Gokongwei's experience in institutional leadership and strategic planning will be invaluable. Gokongwei himself expressed enthusiasm about joining the company at a critical stage of its development and looks forward to contributing to its long-term infrastructure and technology capabilities.
