Lang GmbH halves cooling energy consumption with Rittal units
Machine manufacturer Lang GmbH has halved its annual cooling energy and refrigerant costs and reduced refrigerant volume by 55 percent by adopting Rittal Blue e+ chillers.
Lang GmbH Achieves Significant Energy Savings with Rittal Blue e+ Chillers
Machine manufacturer Lang GmbH has successfully reduced the energy consumption and costs of its cooling systems by up to 50 percent by implementing Rittal Blue e+ chillers. The company also reports a 55 percent reduction in refrigerant volume, bolstering its global competitiveness and sustainability objectives.
Lang GmbH, a global specialist in the development of advanced machine tools, including CNC milling and engraving machines, has integrated Rittal's latest generation of liquid chillers into its equipment. This decision stems from a need to enhance energy efficiency, both within its own production processes and in the machines delivered to customers.
"The issue of energy efficiency and sustainability plays an enormous role, not only for ourselves but also for our customers," stated Andreas Lex, Head of Material Handling at Lang GmbH. "That is why we use Rittal Blue e+ chillers here at Lang."
Compared to conventional chillers, Rittal Blue e+ units can achieve an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of up to 3, whereas traditional units typically achieve around 1. The use of inverter technology, DC motors, and an electronic expansion valve allows for precise control, ensuring the unit operates at optimal speed and delivers only the required cooling capacity. Furthermore, the microchannel technology in the heat exchangers contributes to minimizing the refrigerant needed.
