Lantmännen completes Leipurin acquisition to strengthen food ingredient operations

Lantmännen has completed its acquisition of Leipurin, following the agreement signed in August 2025. The transaction received necessary regulatory approvals and was finalized on March 2, 2026.

Leipurin, which operates in Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, is a long-standing supplier of food ingredients, raw materials, and frozen products, with over a century of market experience. The company has an annual turnover of approximately SEK 1.6 billion and employs around 160 people. In Sweden, Leipurin's operations include Kobia and Kebelco.

The acquisition is intended to expand and strengthen Lantmännen's value chain within food ingredients. Lantmännen anticipates that Leipurin will provide significant growth opportunities in both current and new markets, complementing its ongoing investments in plant-based protein production.

Leipurin will become part of Lantmännen's Energy Division, which focuses on plant-based food ingredients. The division currently produces wheat and oat-based ingredients and is constructing a new facility for pea and faba bean protein. Leipurin's expertise in product development and its sales organization are expected to enhance the division's market reach and offerings to the food industry.
