Lantmännen invests SEK 700 million in new bread production facility in Örebro
Lantmännen Unibake is building a new 13,000-square-meter production facility in Örebro, Sweden. The investment aims to meet growing customer demand and increase bread production capacity.

Lantmännen Unibake Sweden is investing approximately SEK 700 million (around €62 million) in a new production facility in Örebro. The company, which owns the Korvbrödsbagarn brand, aims to expand its bread business and significantly boost production capacity with this strategic move.
The new 13,000-square-meter, three-story facility will be constructed within the grounds of the existing factory. Construction is scheduled to begin in autumn 2025, with operations expected to commence in 2027. This expansion is intended to address growing customer demand and strengthen Lantmännen's market position.
Lantmännen Unibake has operated its bakery in Örebro since 1963. Currently, the site is one of Europe's largest specialty bakeries for hotdog and burger buns, producing over two million units daily. The new facility follows the inauguration of a new central warehouse in Örebro in 2023.
The facility will incorporate environmental measures, including solar panels and upgraded technology, to support the company's climate goals. The investment is positioned as a long-term commitment to secure Lantmännen's leading role in the bread industry.
