Lantmännen invests SEK 800 million to expand Norrköping facility

Lantmännen Agroetanol is investing SEK 800 million to expand its biorefinery operations in Norrköping, Sweden. The project includes the installation of specialized equipment for the separation and drying of gluten proteins, alongside upgrades to existing milling and storage infrastructure.

The investment aims to address rising demand for plant-based ingredients in the food sector, such as bakery and general food production. By expanding its domestic processing capacity, the company seeks to increase the value of grain deliveries for its cooperative of farmer-owners.

Lars-Gunnar Edh, CEO of Lantmännen Agroetanol, noted that the expansion is aligned with the company’s strategic goal of increasing its supply of sustainable products to both domestic and international markets. The new facility is scheduled to be fully operational by the second quarter of 2023.
