Lantmännen Partners with Matmissionen to Redirect Surplus Bread
Lantmännen Unibake has partnered with Matmissionen to ensure surplus bread reaches people in need, thereby reducing food waste.

Lantmännen Unibake, the bakery division of the Lantmännen Group, has established a partnership with Matmissionen, a food bank initiative. This collaboration aims to redirect bread that might otherwise go to waste to individuals and families facing financial hardship.
Through this agreement, Lantmännen Unibake has donated bread to Matmissionen's operations in Örebro, Stockholm, and Trollhättan during the summer months. The initiative is designed to support vulnerable populations while simultaneously advancing the company's goals in reducing food waste and promoting responsible resource management.
"It is rewarding to see our bread directly benefit people in vulnerable situations. At the same time, this is an important step in our efforts to reduce food waste and use our resources more responsibly," stated Frida Helgesson, Logistics Manager at Lantmännen Unibake.
Matmissionen operates under the Axfoundation and functions as a social enterprise focused on combating food waste. They resell surplus food at reduced prices and also aim to create employment opportunities for individuals facing barriers to entering the workforce.
This partnership aligns with Lantmännen's broader commitment to sustainability and its ambition to contribute to a more efficient and responsible food system. The company continues to explore avenues for minimizing its environmental footprint and maximizing its positive societal impact.
