Lantmännen Real Estate and Kävlinge Municipality to Develop New District

Lantmännen Real Estate and Kävlinge Municipality have entered into a planning agreement to develop Åstaden. The project will transform the historic former sugar mill site, located between Kävlinge and Furulund, into a new urban district.

The development plan includes approximately 1,900 new homes across various building types, alongside retail spaces, a school, childcare facilities, and other community services. The area will feature green spaces and recreational routes along the Kävlinge river, aiming to integrate historical industrial character with a natural environment.

The Åstaden project is intended to support Kävlinge's population growth and create opportunities for residential and business development. The initiative seeks to foster a vibrant urban district that benefits the municipality, its residents, and the environment.

Detailed development planning has commenced, with the aim of plan adoption by 2028. Lantmännen Real Estate will actively engage business partners and potential buyers throughout the planning phase to realize the various components of the Åstaden project.
