Lantmännen Unibake acquires Boboli Benelux to expand savoury bakery offerings
Lantmännen Unibake is strengthening its position in the European savoury bakery market by acquiring Dutch company Boboli Benelux B.V. The deal expands the company's product portfolio and production capacity.

Lantmännen Unibake, the bakery division of the Swedish agricultural cooperative Lantmännen, has acquired Boboli Benelux B.V., a Dutch leader in savoury bakery products. The acquisition aims to bolster Lantmännen Unibake's presence in the rapidly growing European market for bake-off and chilled bakery solutions.
Boboli Benelux specializes in Mediterranean flatbreads, including focaccias and pizzas, and holds significant market positions in the Benelux region, the UK, and Germany. The company employs approximately 200 people and operates a modern bakery facility in Bunschoten, Netherlands, which will become Lantmännen Unibake's first bakery in the country. In 2024, Boboli Benelux reported net sales of approximately 50 million euros.
The acquisition is framed as a strategic move to align with market trends and enhance offerings within the savoury segment. Lantmännen Unibake views Boboli Benelux's expertise and capacity as crucial for developing new growth avenues and market leadership. For Lantmännen, the move supports its broader strategy to build a more competitive and resilient business by leveraging combined strengths across markets and categories.
This transaction marks Lantmännen Unibake's entry into the Dutch market with a production facility. Lantmännen, the parent company, is a Northern European agricultural cooperative owned by 17,000 Swedish farmers with an annual turnover of approximately SEK 70 billion.
