Lantu Motors to Address AI Allegations During Launch Event

Chinese automaker Lantu Motors has announced it will address online criticisms that a promotional video showcasing the Lantu Voyah Free S model's 360-degree tunnel maneuver was generated using artificial intelligence. The company initially emphasized the video's authenticity, stating it was filmed in real-time without special effects.

However, doubts emerged among internet users, leading to widespread speculation and the hashtag "Lantu Voyah Free S 360-degree tunnel stunt suspected AI fake" trending online. In response to the controversy, Lantu Motors stated it will address these concerns directly during the Lantu Voyah Free S launch event on August 15th, promising a live, unedited broadcast.

The Lantu Voyah Free S, which began pre-sales on July 24th, is Lantu Motors' latest electric vehicle. It features a performance-oriented design and is equipped with Huawei's advanced intelligent driving system, including LiDAR technology. The vehicle supports features such as NOA (Navigation On Autopilot) for highways and memory parking.

The car is available in rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations, powered by a 98 kWh battery. It offers a CLTC range of up to 740 km for the rear-wheel-drive version and 700 km for the all-wheel-drive. Powertrains include a single rear motor producing 300 kW or a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 475 kW for the all-wheel-drive model.
