Laser Components Expands Infrastructure Monitoring Portfolio
Laser Components Germany has secured exclusive distribution rights for Eolis Medi@ Company's GridCop sensor systems in the DACH region.

Laser Components Germany GmbH has announced it will be the exclusive sales partner for Eolis Medi@ Company GmbH's GridCop sensor systems within Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. This agreement expands Laser Components' offerings in the critical infrastructure monitoring sector.
The GridCop opto-mechanical sensors are designed for monitoring critical infrastructure over distances exceeding 100 kilometers. They detect unauthorized access and environmental disturbances affecting both underground and above-ground facilities, including telecommunications, water, and electricity networks, as well as railway and airport infrastructure. The system operates using purely optical technology without electricity, ensuring reliable, long-distance operation and low maintenance in challenging environments.
"The monitoring of passive infrastructure plays an essential role within an integrated security concept, aligning with the requirements of the new KRITIS legislation," stated Dr. Andreas Hornsteiner, Head of the Fiber Optics division at Laser Components Germany. "The GridCop sensors protect against sabotage and climate-related influences. This product family allows us to offer comprehensive, customized solutions that guarantee safe and trouble-free grid operation, even beyond legal requirements."
Jean-Philippe Boever, Managing Partner of Eolis Medi@ Company, emphasized the value of the partnership. "To successfully compete with our GridCop sensor technology against the trend of 'all wireless/all IoT,' we need a creative and competent sales partner willing to explore new ground with our sensor technology," Boever said. He noted that Laser Components has been such a partner for years.
