German company Laser Components has steadily expanded its international footprint and production capacity since its founding in 1982. The family-run business, now in its second generation under Patrick Paul, has evolved into a global entity with manufacturing facilities and branches across multiple countries.

Recent strategic moves include the 2021 spin-off of Laser Components Germany GmbH from the parent Laser Components GmbH, which subsequently renamed itself Photona GmbH. This period also saw the opening of a new production and administration building for the Laser Components Detector Group in Chandler, Arizona, in 2020, consolidating former Pyro Group and Detector Group operations.

The company has prioritized technological advancement and quality control, evidenced by the 2016 establishment of an ISO Class 7 cleanroom in Olching for assembling optical fibers for the medical market, alongside achieving EN ISO 13485 certification. In the same year, the Detector Group began producing PbS/PbSe detectors in Phoenix, Florida.

Geographic expansion has also been a key focus. Laser Components Nordic AB was established in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2014 to serve Scandinavian markets. The Canadian subsidiary, Laser Components Canada Inc., founded in 2003 for pulsed laser diode production, acquired full ownership of its Quebec facility in 2018.

In 2024, Laser Components Germany was honored as one of "Bavaria's Best 50" medium-sized companies, while the Detector Group was named among the "Chandler 100" in Arizona for its economic contributions. These expansions are supported by a network of reliable premium suppliers and distributors.
