Last days of exhibition Invasion I at Ásmundarsafn
Ásmundarsafn, Reykjavík's art museum, announces the final day of the exhibition Invasion I by artist Guðmundur Thoroddsen will be Sunday, April 15.

Reykjavík's art museum, Ásmundarsafn, has announced that the exhibition "Invasion I" by artist Guðmundur Thoroddsen will conclude on Sunday, April 15.
Guðmundur Thoroddsen has, in recent years, focused on themes of masculinity with a comical approach, utilizing materials such as ceramics and wood in his sculptures. His bold forms and material choices create an interesting dialogue with the works of Ásmundur Sveinsson.
As part of the "Art for the People" exhibition series in 2018, which examines sculptor Sveinsson's work from different periods of his career, four contemporary artists have been invited to exhibit. These artists, including Thoroddsen, Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir, Margrét Helga Sesseljudóttir, and Matthías Rúnar Sigurðsson, aim to create a personal dialogue with Sveinsson's art.
The museum's initiative seeks to highlight the development of three-dimensional art, its materials, and subjects. The exhibition series offers visitors a unique perspective on the relationship between the works of these artists and the legacy of Ásmundur Sveinsson.
