LATAM Airlines to depart oneworld alliance in May 2020
LATAM Airlines Group will conclude its membership in the oneworld airline alliance effective May 1, 2020.

LATAM Airlines Group is set to exit the oneworld alliance on May 1, 2020, following a decision to leave the partnership. Consequently, oneworld-associated benefits for LATAM passengers will be phased out after April 30, 2020.
While alliance-wide benefits—including lounge access and tier status perks—will cease for travel on LATAM after April 30, the airline plans to maintain individual frequent flyer agreements with select oneworld member airlines. Passengers are advised to contact their respective airline loyalty programs to confirm coverage, as benefits will vary depending on the specific carrier agreement.
Despite the departure, oneworld stated it will maintain its footprint in Central and South America. Member airlines, including American Airlines, British Airways, and Qatar Airways, continue to operate over 100 daily flights to more than 30 airports across the region.
