LatAm Startup Funding Jumps 26% In Q3
Latin American startups raised $1.3 billion in Q3 funding, a 26% year-over-year increase. Seed and growth-stage funding drove the expansion.

Startups across Latin America secured a total of $1.3 billion in seed and growth-stage funding rounds during the third quarter ending September 30. This figure represents a 26% increase compared to the same period last year, though it marks a 9% decrease from the second quarter.
The expansion was bolstered by a significant 74% rise in late-stage and growth funding, which reached $757 million. Seed funding also saw a substantial surge, increasing by 128% from the previous quarter to $266 million.
Mexico-based startups raised $1.52 billion in venture funding during the first three quarters of the year, surpassing Brazil's $1.08 billion. This marks a shift, as Brazil has historically been the largest recipient of venture capital in the region.
Notable funding rounds in the quarter included energy-related companies. Chile's Black Giant secured $225 million for its lithium project, and Colombia's Erco Energía raised $129 million for its clean energy initiatives.
