Latham & Watkins hires energy project finance partner
Law firm Latham & Watkins has bolstered its energy platform by hiring an experienced project finance specialist to its Washington D.C. office.

Latham & Watkins LLP has announced the addition of Chris Hutchison as a partner in its Washington D.C. office, focusing on the Project Development & Finance Practice. Hutchison's expertise covers the full capital stack and project lifecycle for energy projects, including structuring, construction, equity investments, permanent financing, joint ventures, tax equity monetization, and restructurings.
The move adds depth to the firm's global energy platform amid sustained demand for project finance services. Hutchison represents project sponsors, developers, private equity and infrastructure funds, lenders, and corporate clients across various asset classes such as solar, wind, storage, gas, and thermal power.
"Chris is a terrific addition to our practice," said Chirag Dedania, Global Co-Chair of Latham's Project Development & Finance Practice. "His financing, development, M&A, and joint venture experience across a range of energy and infrastructure assets is highly complementary to our existing strengths."
Hutchison joins Latham & Watkins from Sidley Austin LLP. The firm advises clients on complex transactions, litigation, and regulatory matters globally.
