Presenter Laura Wontorra received an award at the German Television Award 2026 ceremony on Wednesday evening. She was recognized in the category "Best Individual Entertainment Moderation" for her work on the show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar".
In her acceptance speech, Wontorra thanked her family, team, and colleagues. She particularly focused on a message of empowerment for young girls. "You are not too loud, not too quiet, not too small, not too big, not too fat, not too thin," she stated, urging them to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams.
Wontorra's win in the category saw her outperform Pierre M. Krause's "Kurzstrecke" and the dancers from the finale of "Let's Dance". The German Television Award is one of the country's most significant accolades for television achievements.
Wontorra is also known for hosting other popular programs such as "Grill den Henssler" and Stefan Raab's "Jetski Star WM". Her father is the well-known presenter Jörg Wontorra, whom she also thanked during her speech.
